About MRTQ PDN
Maine Roads to Quality was founded in 1999 to serve as Maine’s early care and education career development center. In 2012, MRTQ expanded to include key partnerships with the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies and the Maine Afterschool Network to became Maine Roads to Quality Professional Development Network (MRTQ PDN).
MRTQ PDN is part of the University of Maine System and located at the Catherine Cutler Institute for Health and Social Policy at the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School for Public Service. MRTQ PDN is primarily funded by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Child and Family Services through the Child Care Development Block Grant. In addition, MRTQ PDN collaborates with other public and private funders to support Maine’s early care and education and out-of-school time professionals in providing high-quality programming for Maine’s children.

Value Collaborative Relationships
Our greatest impact occurs only through trusting, collaborative relationships with practitioners, programs, funders, stakeholders, and colleagues.
Commit to Continuous Quality Improvement
We utilize current data and research to improve our services to better support program quality improvement and practitioner expertise.
Prioritize a More Just, Equitable, and Inclusive Community
In all aspects of our work, we pursue opportunities to promote and contribute to just, equitable, and inclusive Maine early childhood and out-of-school time systems and beyond.
